The name is Shang Chen (pronounced like “Shung”), and I create wedding photographs that are full of color, energy, and personality. I am a storytelling artist who will help you relive those precious moments time, and time again. I surround myself with people who pursue their deepest passions, laugh out loud, travel the world, give hugs, and believe in love. My photography is a mix of photojournalistic moments and beautiful and creative portraits that you will treasure for a lifetime.

As for me, I go above and beyond to run your wedding on time, I will crack jokes to get even the most resistant of parents smile in family photos, and I will hustle your large wedding party through the bustling city streets. Some clients even booked their wedding based on when I am available. I put in just as much over-the-top attention as you deserve. I value honesty and openness, and we will become friends. Why friends? This is because some of my favorite photographs of myself (including the one you see on this page) were taken by professional photographers who were my friends, because a friend understands who I am, inside and out. Therefore, if I can be your friend, I can better capture photographs that truly reflect who you are.
Though I have photographed all kinds of couples, weddings, and traditions, I’m particularly known for my experience with fusion, multicultural, and interfaith weddings. I also frequently work with semi-destination couples – people who are planning their wedding from afar. As someone who has lived in 4 countries, 3 different continents, and traveled all over, I love seeing cultures come together and combine into something that is truly unique to the couple.
My photography has had the honor of being featured on publications such as Style Me Pretty, Grace Ormonde Wedding Style New England, Beantown Bride, Wedding Wire, La Belle Bride, Maharani Weddings, Destination I Do, Intimate Weddings, DIY Bride, the New York Times, and more. I typically book 12 – 18 months in advance depending on the popularity of your date, it is not uncommon for multiple couples to inquire for the same date at the same time. The inquiry process starts with you contacting me through my website, then I will learn more from you either via an in-person consultation or video chat. I do not hold dates – the couples who first gets me their contract + retainer is the client I book.
