She is honored to be able to do what she loves, every day.

I don’t take pictures. I paint an everlasting story

Shang Chen. Pronounced like “Shung”. I create wedding photographs that are full of color, energy, and personality. I am a storytelling artist who will help you relive those precious moments. My photography is a mix of photojournalistic moments and beautiful and creative portraits. My aesthetic is modern – I love buildings with interesting architecture, clean and forward-thinking design (check out my Pinterest board for a modern wedding), and beautiful, flattering light. I’m also a techie who is lucky to call San Francisco her home.

Just like your wedding, you want your photography to be an unforgettable experience

I surround myself with people who pursue their deepest passions, laugh out loud, travel the world, give hugs, and believe in love. Having me as your wedding photographer means being enveloped in a service-driven experience built on mutual trust. My clients typically place wedding photography as one of their top three priorities. I put in over-the-top attention and service, because you deserve it. I become your friend, so that your photos become a genuine portrayal of what matters the most to you.

I’m particularly known for my experience with fusion, multicultural, and interfaith weddings. As someone who has lived in 4 countries, 3 different continents, and traveled all over the world, I love seeing cultures come together and combine into something that is truly unique to the couple.

To me, the most important details in a wedding are your emotions. A wedding is not a wedding without love.

And some random things…

1. In a different life, I’d probably be the sassy frontwoman of an alternative rock band while wearing fuschia heels and leather wristbands

2. I eat A LOT! I am a huge foodie. When I was a grad student, I sold stuff on eBay to fund a trip to Chicago’s acclaimed Alinea restaurant. I’m a sucker for $1 oyster nights and most salty foods. I’m super weird in that I do not like chocolate, coffee, or tea.

3. Jetsetting is my joie de vivre. My favorite trips so far include New ZealandBarcelona, Australia, and Istanbul.

4. I really, really believe in the power of love

5. If your dance floor is packed.. I may bust a move. Shutter shades are optional
