Sister sisters

Not only did I get to hang out with Eveleen, I also got to hang out with her older sister, Bonnie, and their family! They have the two cutest daughters ever – I and Z. I and Z could not be more different in personality. I is older and clearly loves having her photograph taken, and I can’t get enough of her haircut! Z is in one word, zen – she is so agreeable, anyone can hold her. We just had to work hard to keep her from putting things in her mouth throughout the shoot!

These photos were taken in Bonnie’s gorgeous backyard. The sun was just right (there was a threat of thunderstorms but they held off!) and it was just magical!

Little J | Boston baby photographer

Little J is someone who would make you want to just wrap her in your arms and play all day. Thank you so much, Samantha, for giving us such a fun playtime!

We did our photoshoot at the Jean B. Waldstein Playground, which is minutes from my home

The photo on the left is one that I’d posted as a sneak peek on my Facebook Fan Page. It was really funny because little J was imitating me! (I was crouching down to get a picture of her)

Little J loves to swing. Once she gets on it it’s hard to convince her to do anything else!

Peekaboo!

Seriously, can I kidnap her? Or maybe just babysit :D

Whenever possible, I do like to have a portion of a child’s portrait session to occur at home. This is where they’re the comfortable, after all!

You can’t see it in the photo, but that chair is personalized with her name. Wicked awesome!

Autumn has arrived | Boston Lifestyle Photographer

Shadi asked me to come photograph his family at his home in Westwood, MA to have beautiful images in time for the holidays. When I learned that he had three energetic children, I was way excited – this would be my very first shoot with more than one child at the center of attention. It was truly a new challenge, and I have to thank my assistant Karman for helping out!

We split our session into two segments – with some Christmas-themed formals inside, followed by more casual natural light photos outside
All three kids had their own unique personalities that I really wanted to bring out

I love this, this was their idea in between the group shots =) The girl stood on the couch and I asked the brother to join her and make up something awesome

It took a little while for the little one to warm up, but I knew she’d come around

We then headed outside on a beautiful autumn day. The sky was bright and colorful leaves were everywhere

I think she has a lot of spunk (as seen above and below!)

We had a lot of trouble getting the family together after everyone got hyper running outside. However, I really like this candid capture

I had sooo much fun! And I’m really sad that it’s gotten SO cold recently. You’ll probably hear me complain about the weather in the next few months a lot, but it’s true, because weather / light affects how much I can do because I’m an on-location photographer. I really envy people who shoot in warmer climates sometimes, it’s prone to a lot less sick children and less cancellations. I’ve gotten a nasty, NASTY cold in the last week from which I am just recovering. I am fully pumped for the weekend – got another baby shoot and then a really cool concept shoot with a student organization. Speaking of school… I got my first business school interview invitation! I’m beginning to see the light at the end of the tunnel of this whole process! Now hopefully I will be able to rock it and translate that into admission =) It will be happening in November. A big thanks to everyone’s who’s helped me through so far! I only have one more application left to submit.

Family afternoon at DeCordova | Boston Baby Photographer

It’s time for another time with Victoria, Vlad, and A! We took a beautiful sunset session at theÂ DeCordova Museum and Sculpture Park in Lincoln, MA. I definitely want to come back, there’s so much to explore! Thank you Joyce for assisting!

I love the red hoodie A wore today. It has spikes on it!

Love the action here. What really amazes me about this session is just how much A has grown in just the 6 months I’ve known him. It’s true what they say, babies grow quickly!

This photo cracks me up so much! A was trying to move every one of these concrete balls.. but I think we’ll have to wait until he grows some more muscles!

Wollaston Beach Family Session | Boston Baby Photographer

After my session with little A below, I went to meet another A with his Mommy and Daddy at Quincy’s Wollaston Beach, which is a nice stretch of beach with plenty of parking and not too many people. This little A is famous on my blog! Previous posts include this one at the Arnold Arboretum when he started walking. He’s much better at walking now! I forgot my flip-flops (oops!), but it was nevertheless worth all the sand I got into my sneakers! Victoria and Vlad chose an all-white ensemble this time. We even got to splash around in the water, which was awesome because it was still very, very hot.

Every photoshoot we end up getting a shot with an animal… this puppy was really muddy!

Little A was a little more reserved this session, so this was a new creative idea I wanted to try out

Whenever A squatted on the ground we had to work hard to keep him from eating all the pebbles!

He just can’t stop walking!

We went back to near my house to get some more urban portraits. I normally don’t show bloopers but when this photo popped up as I was editing I couldn’t stop laughing!

Little A Summer Session | Boston Baby Photographer

Time to show you one of my August babies! Some of you might remember A from a while back when I was there when she was 5 months old, see here! I met up with the family again, this time it was hoooot! But everyone was a great sport and we got some cute photos.

Kids grow up so quickly! You might remember little A fromÂ this photoshoot or his absolute fabÂ birthday party. Weâ€™re slated for a couple more sessions this year. Todayâ€™s post is from a Motherâ€™s Day photoshoot at Arnold Arboretum. The weather was gorgeous that day, which meant that the park was also really crowded!

Many flowers were still in full bloom. I love pinks and greens!

Iâ€™m so glad itâ€™s Memorial Day weekend! I had a string of late (post 9PM) nights at work, I got sicker and sicker as the week progressed (I have the non-swine flu, I had some food poisoning), so I hope to get completely better this weekend and finish editing! This month I also walked the 20-mile Walk for Hunger and raised over $500 (thank you supporters!!!). Andrew and I are headed to Brown this weekend to participate in some commencement weekend activities. And oh yeah, I have to pack! I bought a condo in Brookline, closing is this coming week, and I hope to move next weekend (in the middle of 4 senior photoshoots). Crazy month for me in general, Iâ€™m survivingâ€¦ but Iâ€™m not going to lie, Iâ€™m stretching myself, so thatâ€™s why I canâ€™t take on any more gigs between now and August 15.

Oh, my friend Dave totally got me hooked on this arrangement by Jon Schmidt of Taylor Swiftâ€™s Love Story and Coldplayâ€™s Viva la Vida (youtube vidÂ here). Now, Iâ€™m not a big fan of Swiftâ€™s song, I think the lyrics are unrealistic and from a counterpoint view, I donâ€™t like too many neighbor notes strung together, I prefer having wider intervals or appegiated chords in the melody line, but I loooove Coldplay, and I was introduced to Schmidt back in 2006 and have really liked his stuff too. Itâ€™s great study/work music =)

Wen's Second Pregnancy | Boston Maternity Photography

Wen and Phil were two of my high school youth counselors back in the day, and probably one of my biggest supporters since I began exploring photography back in high school. Itâ€™s always an honor whenever they ask me to take their photos, and I was particularly happy to find out that Wen wanted photos of her second pregnancy (congrats!). We drove to Wellesley College campus (seems to be one of my favorite places to shoot now!), the sky threatened to rain but held throughout the hour, woohoo!

Their son, little J, was a little clingy at first, so Phil took him for a ride!

I really love pregnant bellies, I think theyâ€™re one of the most beautiful things in the world
