I love hearing clients’ feedback about what they like about me on the job, and one of the most notable things people keep remarking is how I capture energy in my photographs.
If you ever meet me in person, you’ll see that I’m first and foremost, energetic! I think about what I want in a photographer, and I try to be that photographer. The last thing I want is a photog who says nothing, who doesn’t smile, who just snaps photos, and walks away leaving me confused about what we just did for the last 2 hours. Some people could probably get great shots doing that, but no, me, I will work every inch of my body including getting down and dirty on grass to get the shot you love.
Other than the physical workout of a photoshoot, there is the personal. If you’re talkative, I’ll talk to you and ask about you, your day, the people you love. Even if you’re shy, I will talk to you! I will not only work out your smile muscles, I will also give you the time and opportunity to show a little bit to me about who you are and what makes you, uniquely YOU!
Last but not least, if you have a wedding, and you hired me as your wedding photographer and my time lasts through the reception, and there is lively music and other people are dancing… I will dance too… while photographing! I’ve learned that dancing makes it easier to move through big crowds. I’ve learned that people find it novel and actually cheer if I throw all reservation out the windows do my own little jig… like saying, “Hey look the wedding photographer is on the dance floor!”. And when a photographer is energetic, so are the subjects!
This is me as a guest at one of my friend’s weddings this year. I don’t drink (on or off the job), it’s not my thing. I get my energy from the crowd, the vibe in the room. I get my energy from the music. So just imagine this, substitute a suit for the dress, and add a camera or two in my hands. In the words of Lady Gaga….

Just dance! Looking forward to seeing you all breakin’ it down. Rock on.
