Hello world! I’ve landed in Sydney, Australia and am hanging out at my aunts. I’m a little jetlagged, but my flight was pretty smooth. I even managed to watch Confessions of a Shopaholic (I love Hugh Dancy), HP5, and Star Trek. I’m technically on vacation, but I really wanted to post these engagement photos of Diane and David, some great friends I’ve made post-college here in Boston, and I’m waiting for my aunts to make lunch so I have down time. Diane and David (or as they like to say, “dsquared”) are getting married real soon, and we had the GREATEST luck with weather during their session – sunny and a high of 60 degrees! Unthinkable! For fun, I asked them to bring in some props – including some red helium balloons. The reason why I love engagement shoots and why I highly recommend them to everyone is that not only do you get to have some fun, casual photos with each other, you also get to understand how you two photograph. And if I am your wedding photographer, it helps work out some of the wedding jitters and is a great time for me to receive feedback from you as well in terms of what photographs you respond to – so that your wedding photos would rock even more! Okay, I’m getting sleepy, so let’s get to the photos!
We began by the esplanade
This one is totally unplanned, Diane happened to be skipping as I snapped this. This picture makes me smile every time
Um, these balloons are just awesome. Period.

We caught the tail end of the autumn colors. I looove my 85mm lens (I’m thinking of trying out the 100mm next)

David and Diane were always more than happy to oblige with some of my wacky ideas.. although I wish the balloons would float a little higher =)
This canopy of golden leaves was delicious
Yummy leaves! To get this photo I lay down on the ground while the leaves fell on me
This was their idea. So cute!
Another silly one…
A sun flare in the middle of the day

Congrats you two! Thanks for such a fun afternoon and I’ll see you soon!
