Charlotte and James are a fun bunch! Maybe it’s because during our round of formal photos after the ceremony, James and his UCLA buds broke into the UCLA chant that surprised Charlotte. Maybe it’s because they’re up for anything, and I really do mean almost anything, to make their portraits pop with the youthful energy that I see from them. Or maybe it’s because this is one of two weddings I’m shooting this year where I personally know some of the people – though I don’t shoot many friends’ weddings (that will go up next year, though), it is always nice to see people I know. In fact, there were 5 people from my high school, and the funny fact was that we all knew Charlotte and James in a different capacity.

Also, today marks 28 years of marriage for my parents. Happy wedding anniversary Mom and Dad!

Charlotte’s beautiful and flawless makeup was done by Danielle Ross, one of my favorites!

I rarely post the traditional formals that I take, but this one is priceless – the ringbearer is working on his million-dollar smile =)

One thing I really like about full Protestant wedding ceremonies – the worship songs. They’re really beautiful and personal

All of us piled into a limo (best way to transport wedding parties) to get some photos done at Wellesley College, which Charlotte’s sister attended and was close to our reception venue. I love the sloping lawns, the gothic architecture, and lanterns of this place

Also, I tell every couple who doesn’t have great weather for their engagement photos that karma will probably give them gorgeous weather for their wedding. It’s definitely true for this day! Bringing on the quirky!

I’m so happy to see these two together at least… long distance is tough!

No dresses were harmed in this photo, trust me!

Kind of random photo, but this is my college friend Stephen, who probably is asked to play piano or be the MC at every wedding he attends. I applaud him for his giving heart and funny bone. (P.S. when will you be engaged? :P)

Amie shot all these beautiful details. Charlotte and James created a monogram that carried through the day – on their program, as a sticker on their favors, as a cake topper, on their escort cards. Bright pink gerbera daisies and pink napkins tied with blue ribbon really made the reception feel laid-back, relaxed, and elegant

While I was photographing the cake cutting photos in the collage, I noticed the line of kids out of the corner of my eye – they probably thought Charlotte and James were going to feed them next! Amie got this awesome shot! They were a little disappointed that they didn’t get cake right away

I’m much more in favor of a little frosting dab on the nose than a cake smash . James returned the favor by bumping noses with Charlotte

The Wellesley Country Club has a really nice deck where guests relaxed, including this little boy (son of the best man)

The girl who caught the bouquet went to music prep school with me back in high school =)

Good luck with the move to Norcal and I’ll see you there soon enough =)

Rachel | Wellesley Senior Photography

Oh hello, look at this thousand-watt smile! The ever-adorable Rachel and I spent good quality time at Wellesley (yep, again!) for her senior session! It was after commencement, the campus was extremely quiet – to the point where we were a little spooked! However, I love not having people around, we were able to take command over any location we wanted without people getting in the way.

Love her pink shoes! This is what I’m talking about in terms of accessories!

Wen’s Second Pregnancy | Boston Maternity Photography

Wen and Phil were two of my high school youth counselors back in the day, and probably one of my biggest supporters since I began exploring photography back in high school. It’s always an honor whenever they ask me to take their photos, and I was particularly happy to find out that Wen wanted photos of her second pregnancy (congrats!). We drove to Wellesley College campus (seems to be one of my favorite places to shoot now!), the sky threatened to rain but held throughout the hour, woohoo!

Their son, little J, was a little clingy at first, so Phil took him for a ride!

I really love pregnant bellies, I think they’re one of the most beautiful things in the world
