Just because people don’t see your shoes under your dress, doesn’t mean they have to be boring! In fact, I have a huge, huge obsession with shoes, and if you have fabulous shoes, you can bet that I will make sure they get captured!
This is perhaps one of my favorite blog posts of the year, and I hope it inspires you to add a dose of fabulousness into your engagement sessions or your wedding style! And guess what? A lot of my brides, and myself, shopped for our shoes on Zappos.com! That website seriously brings happiness.. free superfast shipping both ways and 365-day return policy! You know I use that site way too much because they always upgrade me to 1-day shipping.
I cannot emphasize color and texture enough. I dare you to try something more colorful or textural, especially for your engagement photos
From l-r, top to bottom: Nancy used color blocks in her shoes. Kimberly matched the yellows in her Nine West shoes to her dress. Moah donned leather boots for her fall shoot. And don’t forget the groom! Julia went chic with her polka dot heels and Peter went shabby with Converse sneakers
GO BRIGHT! Joanna found these bright orange shoes on Zappos and they perfectly matched the orange band in her dress! Tina went for a luscious dark pink, and Tricia dazzled in a fresh arrangement of blues, pinks, and magentas
On the wedding day, match your shoes with your wedding colors! Luci (in center) and her sisters all found shoes that matched their dresses. Kimberly had cute cute bows on her gorgeous red Nine West peeptoe pumps. Linda got yellow Stuart Weitzman slingbacks to go with her yellow and gray wedding. Nicole’s pink Kate Spade shoes were so killer I had to do a ring shot on it
Having fabulous shoes can hurt, so if you want comfort, go for that! Also, if you are very similar in height to your groom, flats may also be a practical option. Rebecca added foot petals to her Stuart Weitzman shoes. Lauren went for these strappy sandals. Sue had glittery flats
Many of my brides went for classic white! The Coloriffics sandals appeared to be quite popular – showed up in 3 weddings! I love photographing white shoes against interesting backgrounds
I have a soft spot for ruffly details, like Danielle’s Aldo sandals on the left and Britt’s peeptoe pumps on the right
And the coolest part – you can personalize your shoes. Mary added these hearts to the bottom of hers, and Sue got Etsy seller BeSomethingNew to craft handmade shoe clips for her bridesmaids

Sarah and I built an entire in(SCP)iration shoot around her Christian Louboutins

And my chucks. Best purchase ever.

2011 clients – I look forward to seeing some great style! And remember, a pedicure goes a long way ;)
