They met in middle school, and since then he’d been trying to ask her out. She said no each time. It wasn’t until after college, when they began working in finance, that they saw each other more frequently. She was in Chicago, he in New York City, but she traveled there a lot. And they’d always meet up. After a while, it finally occurred to her, “Why aren’t we dating?” On a very chilly autumn day in fall, Apurva married her best friend, Adam.

What’s super cool about Apurva and Adam’s wedding is that it is interfaith – Hindu and Jewish. Hence there are two of everything… including… two dresses! Above, you can see Apurva in her sari, and this is her dress below. Adam also got two outfits – a Tom Ford suit for the ceremony, a Hugo Boss tuxedo for the reception

The paper was actually from the day before

Everyone in the family wore saris for the ceremony

Apurva’s beautiful makeup was provided by Muntaha Sharique, she is based in NYC, and is one super sweet woman!

First look on the grand staircase at Four Seasons

And some nice portraits

It was really, really cold outside, but I’m super super super happy we went outside to get portraits, um, it’s kind of a requirement if you’re a SCP bride =) We were a bit delayed what with the sari and all, so we only got about 15 minutes or so, but seriously you can’t beat being outside when you have this kind of foliage!

Apurva’s parents greet Adam and his parents at the start of the wedding ceremony

This flower girl having fun!

The Jewish part of the ceremony

During the Hindu part of the ceremony, Apurva’s brother gets up to twist Adam’s ear and remind him to take good care of Apurva… or else

Soft roses from Winston Flowers and romantic candles lit up the space formerly known as the Aujourd’Hui restaurant

The food was just as, if not even more, delicious than it looked. Okay, Apurva and Adam, you had me at those truffle fries. I die!

Apurva and Adam’s first dance

This literally happened for a split second. Great job Adam!

Much thanks to the crew of Boston Sound and Light Company / Deejay Yogz for packing the dance floor!

And of course, you gotta have the hora. I love the excitement and trepidation, the guests rushing in to hoist the chairs

And that wraps up my 2011 season!

I love being a wedding photographer. Sad I’m going on my leave (shooting ten 2012 weddings and moving to a new city and a new job), but it’s been an amazing experience that’s taught me so much! If it weren’t for personal reasons, I would have stayed in Boston long-term doing this for a while. Nevertheless, never say never, I won’t know what’s happening tomorrow, I can only strive to be the best version of myself, every day.
