I literally shot this wedding the day before I moved to Chicago, so it’s been a bit busy trying to get this on the blog! However, the delay does not mean that this one is any less special. As I look upon these images now, I feel like I’m transported right back to the joy of that very same day. Amy’s first husband, Bill, died of melanoma when her kids were very young, and Amy has dedicated a lot of time to the Melanoma Foundation. Amy met George while taking golf lessons from him in my hometown of Lexington, Massachusetts. If you ever want to see a beautiful family where each side has embraced each other with fierce loyalty, look no further than their kids. Amy’s children are twins and younger than George’s, but when I see them together, it is nothing but pure love. And their parents are just gorgeous and completely in love with each other. (also, as is my usual privacy policy, I do not identify children by their names on this blog, so pardon the many references to them as “kids” or “children”)
Amy got ready in a room drenched in light. Amy’s makeup and hair by the ever-talented and one of my preferred, Carolina Velasco of From Hair to Eternity

Amy’s jewelry glittered and it was fun to help her select the final pieces as there were several options

This is Amy with her sister, Kerry. I did a double-take when I saw them together

Top left: wedding party. Top right – the four children. Bottom left, the new family. Bottom right: the parents – George’s parents, Amy’s mother, and Bill’s parents. Bill’s father walked Amy down the aisle

Amy said that George was shy, but when he’s with Amy, he is all smiles. It was super easy to get these relaxed and natural portraits of them two together

I also think that they are way, way more in shape than I am. I gotta use my building’s gym more!

Amy wanted a light, fun dress, and this Watters gown was perfect – it even converts to a cute cocktail dress which you’ll see later!

We have to thank another one of my preferred vendors, Dana of Bumble Bee Landing, for the super-colorful floral design for this wedding. I can’t stop singing praises of her talent. Cascading orchids and hydrangea abound. My favorite? The ringbearer pillow and the flower girl basket

This continues to be one of my favorite photojournalistic moments during the wedding ceremony

One note about the InterContinental Hotel in Boston’s financial and waterfront district – my old job hosted its holiday party there as well. The food is excellent and the staff are extremely professional

More gorgeousness from Bumble Bee Landing. There is just so much elegance in submerged centerpieces

More cute sibling love!

After the first dance all the children rushed up for a big family hug

I have to give this lady major props – she’s the nanny for the twins, and she kept up with their infinite energy all night

Amy held it together until her sister spoke. The speeches were very heartfelt and I can just tell from even what they said how much George adores Amy

Voila, the shorter dress!

Check out George’s kids ROCKING it, bottom left

This is the first photo that I have with clients that got photo-bombed! Hilarious, love it!
