Rare is the woman like Nkem who makes every person feel like the center of the world when you talk to her. From the minute I saw her on her wedding day to the minute I had to bid my adieu, I just felt completely enveloped in her warmth, love, and grace. Darin complements her with a great sense of humor, and they are equally and fiercely loved by their friends. Nkem and Darin are based in the New York area, but decided to have a destination wedding in Lowell, MA. We managed to keep in touch over the year through Facebook and phone calls, but nothing beats meeting them in person. It was such an honor to be there for you two!
Tammy and I spent our times separately with Darin and Nkem. It turns out both of them were working on their vows that day!

This is one of many amazing hugs that Nkem gives. Also, you’re going to be seeing many people in very colorful Nigerian clothing throughout this post, love it!
There was rain, on and off, throughout the day. Great capture, Tammy!
Another great one by Tammy
Their ceremony was at St. Anne’s Episcopal Church. The stained glass windows were very beautiful

This is Nkem’s mother. She is a woman of great personality and I absolutely loved her Nigerian outfit
We originally had a lot more locations planned for the portraits but the weather would not cooperate – luckily we were in western Mass, I heard that there was flooding in the city of Boston! We waited until the rain calmed down a bit and then ventured outdoors for some portraits with umbrellas. Nkem and Darin, you two rock for going the distance despite the weather!
So sweet

This one is so fun!
Whenever I do these portraits outside, the couple often gets congratulated by passers-by!
The happy couple at their reception at the loft at The Brewery Exchange
I really liked this image – Nkem hugging her friend while Darin and his friend went for the handshake

Nkem’s bouquet had blue roses! So unique and gorgeous
And of course, I can’t resist putting up more photos of her
Their wedding had very classy navy blue and white details:
Row 1: Menu, cupcakes!, table numbers – they got engaged at The Cloisters
Row 2: Centerpiece, tablescape, escort cards
Row 3: Cupcakes, just one more time =)
Thank you two for your love, I could not stop smiling for you guys all day!
