When I first heard Jacqueline’s infectious smile, it was over the phone on a bright sunny afternoon. When her laughter spilled out of the earpiece, I felt as if the sun had whisked her into my head and multiplied. Meeting Jacqueline in person was equally a pleasure. She and Sean were two of the most relaxed people I’ve ever seen on a wedding day, their steady demeanor really set the tone for an intimate and warm wedding that was about them and their family and friends.
I played a lot with light during this wedding – natural light, indoor ambient light, flash light. Our wedding was set at the absolutely gorgeous and a hidden gem, the Boston University Castle. I didn’t even know this little structure existed! It’s near the much larger and better known Marsh Chapel. If you have a wedding of around 50 people, the BU Castle is a perfect setting – gorgeous architectural detail, friendly and attentive staff, and convenient location. Thank you to Karman for helping me out!
On to the photos! Jacqueline and Sean opted to do all the portraits before the ceremony. They had no wedding party, the family was running a little late, so I got lots of time alone with them!
I didn’t notice this image on my first pass, but the second time around, I really loved the way her dress flowed given that the fabric was actually kind of stiff

Sean is such a sweet guy!
I love having the ladies have fun with their dress =)

Jacqueline and Sean are naturals when it comes to smiling, but even so, I think I encouraged them by saying silly things =)
A beautiful sapphire (one of my fav gems!) ring
So… Jacqueline and Sean are ridiculously smart. And they’re doing smart research things at ivy league schools. so YES, I had to take a photo in front of a wall of ivy!
Add a little drama…
I love all the details inside this room! So pretty! The chandelier, the ceiling is to die for, the marble fireplace… GORGEOUS
Did I mention things can go wrong? One of Jacqueline’s eyelashes needed a quick fix
First kiss

I love the dramatic lighting streaming through this window

This is Jacqueline’s niece. She is adorable to pieces
Dad made a great speech! I guess with three daughters, he’s had practice =)
I love this room. Love its ambiance, and this candid photo I think really speaks to how I feel about it
Congratulations to you two!
